Artist Statement
"I manipulate familiar elements into unexpected contexts, creating visual puzzles that encourage closer contemplation."
Born in 1988 in Nîmes, South of France, and currently based in Malta, I am an artist deeply inspired by the intersection of simplicity and vivid storytelling. I specialize in creating figurative scenes that capture moments suspended between reality and fantasy, between the structured and the chaotic. My work is recognized for its striking use of bold, solid colors and sharp black outlines, a signature style that creates a visual rhythm of balance and tension.
The figures and creatures that populate my compositions are symbolic yet approachable, blending elements of myth, surrealism, and human emotion. Each piece invites viewers to step into a vibrant narrative, where forms seem to pulsate with life, and simplicity belies complexity. By playing with scale and perspective, I manipulate familiar elements into unexpected contexts, creating visual puzzles that encourage closer contemplation.
I create from what I see and experience, shaped by my explorations and personal reflections. My work reflects not only my wishes and imagination but also the world around me, responding to the pressing tensions and beauty found in nature and human interaction. By infusing my subjects with allegorical meaning, I invite viewers to contemplate both personal and global narratives, drawing a connection between our inner landscapes and the challenges we face as a collective.
Ultimately, through my bold figurative scenes, I aim to create not only a visual experience but also an emotional journey that lingers in the mind long after the first glance.
